Our First FIRST competition

We participated in our first robotics competition on Friday, November 16, at King's High School in Shoreline. We got off to a very late start with the FTC season, and our kit did not arrive until October 30. However, team members have been working very hard with the help of Boeing mentors Neil Palachuk and Tondra Holeman, sometimes staying as late as 6:30 or 7:00 pm. After 18 rounds of rotating alliances with or against 10 other teams, the BEARbots were in second place. This was round one of a continuing competition. Round two will take place on Friday, November 30th and round three on December 7th. We are very proud of our performance but know we have a lot of work to do to improve. We were making design changes in between matches, and we will have to do repairs to the arm that was damaged in a collision with another robot.
